About your Therapist

Having qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 1995, I have worked within the field of mental health since that time (both in the NHS and in the independent sector).  I have been interested in holistic and complementary therapies for a number of years, and believe that the body and mind have a natural ability to heal themselves when allowed to do so.

I have been a Reiki practitioner since 2006, and have a strong belief in this gentle healing therapy.  I completed my 2nd Degree Reiki whilst pregnant with my daughter and believe that this is one of the reasons why she has such a calm spirit.  I have since gone on to undertake my Reiki Master / Teacher (3rd Degree) and hope to be able to share this wonderful therapy with new students in the future.  I am also available to give Reiki treatments to animals, and have in the past treated dogs, cats, horses, and rabbits.
I completed my Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy in 2008 at the Central England College of Clinical Hypnotherapy, and feel that it is a very versatile and effective therapy which can enable individuals to realise and reach their full potential.
In 2008 I also completed my training as a HypnoBirthing practitioner, following Marie Mongan's wonderful method.  I have great love and respect for this approach, and am constantly amazed by what a woman can achieve when she is able to work with her natural birthing instincts.
In addition to HypnoBirthing, I am also qualified in the use of Hypnosis for Fertility, and feel that this is a wonderful complement to my work with birthing parents.
To complement my work with pregnancy and new parents I have also trained in the Baby Calm approach, which encourages parents to tune into their new baby's needs by using and trusting their own natural instincts.
I am also trained in Thermo-Auricular Therapy (Hopi Ear Candles), and able to advise on all areas of stress and anxiety management.
